The Volkswagen T-Cross has made quite a mark worldwide after its launch two years ago. Now, Volkswagen Philippines is setting its sights on rolling the globally renowned subcompact sport utility vehicle (SUV) in our local shores.

Manufactured in the marque’s global hubs in Brazil, China and Germany, the T-Cross has plenty in store for local automotive enthusiasts — from its engineering features all the way to its design details.

From Europe to Africa, the T-Cross has reaped recognition.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, our local carmaker still holds a positive outlook on the automotive industry, still eager for Filipinos to get their chance to experience a crossover that is recognized worldwide for its safety, design and engineering.

From Europe to Africa, the T-Cross has reaped recognition from various reputable automotive award-giving bodies and auto shows.

In fact, it has been awarded stars in the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), Latin NCAP, and the Australian NCAP safety rating.

Moreover, it was also given citations from various institutions, such as: “Best Compact SUV” at Business Car Awards 2019 in United Kingdom, “Compact SUV of the

Year” at the 2020 Continental Tyres Irish Car of the Year in Ireland, the “Best Exterior Volume Brand” at Frankfurt Motor Show 2019 in Germany, the “Compact SUV of the

Year” by UOL Carros 2019 and L’Auto Preferita in Brazil, and the “Compact Family Car” category win in the 5th annual Cars.co.za Consumer Awards in South Africa.

With global production of the T-Cross in full swing in Volkswagen’s three manufacturing hubs, the subcompact SUV has already rolled unto 55 countries as of March this year as worldwide sales have shown remarkable increase. From 202,000 units sold in 2019, it has enjoyed a 46-percent growth in 2020, ultimately selling a total of 296,000 units by yearend, amid restricted economic activities brought about by the pandemic.

Being a global force to reckon with, the T-Cross is more than ready to make its impact in our local market, signaling that better and more exciting motoring days are upon us.
