'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' leads Baeksang rt Awards nominees
The romance-drama series starring Kim Soo-hyun, Seo Yea-ji, Oh Jung-se and Park Gyu-young earned seven nominations including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Drama
The best of South Korea’s film, television and theater industry are among the nominees at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards to be held on 13 May on pay TV network JBTC.
The event, also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards, is touted as “the only comprehensive entertainment awards ceremony in South Korea.”
In the television awards, the romance-drama series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay
earned seven nominations including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Director and Best Drama.
The drama-suspense Penthouse is also in the running with six nominations including Youngdae Kim and Hyunsoo Kim for Best New Actor and Actress, respectively.
Likewise nominated for Best Drama are Monster, Flower of Evil, My Unfamiliar Family and Extracurricular.
Drawing much discussion on social media were the Best Actor nominees: Kim Soohyun (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay), Song Joong Ki (Vincenzo), Shin Ha Gyun and Um Ki Jun (Penthouse) and Joonki Lee (Flower of Evil).
Nominated for Best Film are Siblings’ Summer Night, But Save Me from Evil, Samjin Group English TOEIC Class, Without Sound and Asset Report.
