The Eastern Police District (EPD) has leveled up its community pantry effort as it distributed food packs house-to-house to indigent families in Pasig City. The EPD, led by district director P/Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, conducted a house-to-house distribution of food packs to indigent families at Barangay Rosario, West Bank Road, Floodway, Pasig City on Wednesday afternoon. Personnel of the EPD District Community Affairs and Development Division, headed by P/Maj. Eric Cister, personally handed over food items to the beneficiaries right at their doorsteps.

Around 150 food packs filled with rice, canned goods, instant noodles, coffee, hand soap, biscuits, eggs and face shields were given to the families.

The EPD has set up a community pantry in front of its headquarters along Caruncho Avenue in Pasig City.

The pantry contains vegetables, rice, eggs, soap, masks, face shields, Bibles, police journal magazines among others. The items were offered free to residents, most especially those who have been severely affected by the community lockdowns, to help them cope with the ongoing health crisis.

The important thing is that no one was hurt. Don’t worry because you can always buy things. We can always earn money, but the money we earn cannot buy life,” Go told them in a video message. He offered to help those who sustained fire-related injuries or have other medical conditions by seeking further aid at any of the nearest Malasakit Centers.
