NCRPO helps residents with Covid-19 programs
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has initiated programs to help residents and deployed police officers to enforce quarantine protocols.
The NCRPO launched “Serbisyong TAMA Caravan sa Barangay” that aims to reach out to the vulnerable sectors of the community.
With a more systematic distribution of relief packs, a total of 40,498 beneficiaries were reached by the police from 31 March to 19 April 10.
The beneficiaries include the urban poor, TODA/JODA, illegal settlers, Muslim community, barangay tanods and Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT)from 1,735 barangays covered by the program.
A total of 31,222 health kits, 30,129 food packs, 3,701 medicines and cash assistance were given to the poorest of the poor to sustain their needs during the quarantine.
To further build rapport with the community, NCRPO utilized and mobilized a total of 25,173 non-government organizations/civilian volunteer organizations through joint activities.
There were 5,163 police officers who participated in relief distribution while 15,732 were deployed at quarantine control points and checkpoints to ensure that community protocols were observed.
The NCRPO is assisted by 8,377 barangay health emergency response teams, 28,124 civilian volunteers, 39,286 barangay tanods and 5,891 members of the KKDAT/SK.
To accommodate the needs of the public affected by the limited number of public transportation due to the implementation of stricter quarantine protocol, the NCRPO provided free ride program starting 31 March.
