CLARK FREEPORT — The Clark Development Corporation (CDC), in collaboration with Green Antz Builders Inc., recently launched a research and development facility that seeks to convert residual wastes into eco-friendly construction materials.

No less than CDC president and CEO Manuel Gaerlan led the inauguration of the facility along with CDC chair Edgardo Pamintuan and Green Antz Builders Inc. president Rommel Benig.

The facility — dubbed as “Eco Hub” — is located near the Clark Skills and Training Center and features equipment that will help to generate eco-friendly supplies and products including eco-bricks, pervious pavers and green pavers.

The facility is also seen to provide livelihood opportunities for people residing near the Freeport as the state-owned corporation hopes to raise the collective awareness of Clark locators to integrate eco-friendly approach in their businesses.

CDC and Green Antz also envisioned that the project will further promote solid waste recycling campaign and strengthen the implementation of various environmental programs in Clark.

To recall, CDC and Green Antz in January 2019 signed a memorandum of agreement for the development of the facility that supports green advocacy.
