Phoenix Petroleum and Tuason Racing’s goal to discover fresh and new talents on and off track continues on its third year with Phoenix Pulse’s Young Driver’s Program-Celebrity Showdown happening this June and July.

Being a homegrown brand and a successful Filipino story, Phoenix is, once again, showing its support to Filipino talents with this latest project. With e-sports consistently gaining attention here in the country, Phoenix as a brand shares a similar identity with it — young, aggressive and growing. Those qualities enable the brand to produce winners whether it’s on-track or online, who will represent the country and bring pride to the Filipinos.

“Phoenix has always been a dynamic Filipino brand eager to empower local talents. As a homegrown business that has become a formidable multi-industry brand, we want to harness our platform and invest resources to replicate in others the same growth that we have achieved,” said Celina Matias, vice president for Integrated Marketing and Strategies.

“We’ve been a fervent supporter of the Philippine racing industry, and not even the pandemic has been able to stop us from sustaining this cause. This year is no different as we adapt this project to current realities, while also making it more exciting than before,” she added.

Now on its third year, the Phoenix Pulse Young Driver’s Program aims to search for the new e-sports driver who will represent the team during the Formula V1 Virtual Cup later this year. The team will also feature a celebrity, which will be determined in The Phoenix PULSE Young Driver’s ProgramCelebrity Showdown, a web-based reality show that will show eight celebrities

We wanted to show through celebrities and influencers what it takes to be an e-sports racer. The skill, the discipline and the determination needed to be successful,” Tuason Racing’s chief executive officer, JP Tuason, said.

The celebrity lineup consists of actor-heartthrob Marco Gumabao, Miss World Philippines 2019 Michelle Dee, tween actor Joshua Dionisio, hotshot influencer Kim Baranda, actor and Hashtag member Vitto
