The Philippines’ vaccine program on Tuesday reached another milestone, having administered 12 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines since it started its rollout last March, National Task Force against Covid-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Vince

Dizon said.

During the ceremonial vaccination of economic frontliners in essential sectors at the Clark Freeport Zone, Dizon bared that one million doses were administered in the past four days alone.

Last Friday, the government announced that the country had administered 11 million doses of vaccine.

Due to the improvement of figures in the Covid-19 vaccination, Dizon expressed his confidence that the country will achieve herd immunity within the year.

“Once our supply arrives, I think our mayors and governors all over the country, can achieve our goal this year,” he said.

The government aims to vaccinate 50 to 70 million of the 110 million Filipinos before the end of the year to achieve herd immunity.

Meanwhile, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque warned the public against falsification of vaccination cards, following the new Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) allowing fully vaccinated individuals to do interzonal travels.

“First of all, I will give warning to those who will fake it (vaccination card), that is a public document, so if you fake your vaccination card, that is falsification of a public document, longer years of imprisonment are waiting for you,” Roque said.

Earlier this week, the IATF released the new protocols giving more incentives for fully vaccinated individuals such as waiving of negative test results when traveling within the country.

Under the IATF Resolution 124-B, fully vaccinated individuals no longer need to present swab test results, if they want to travel to other cities or provinces within the country.
