Stone walls do not a prison make. When you are cooped up in your room, prone to pandemic loneliness or depression, close your eyes and visit your inner garden. There, your lonely beach appears, an empty cathedral, your grandkids romping around, an intimate conversation with the Lord about your problems. It is your secret weapon. You just don’t know it. Everyone has an inner garden. That’s how powerful our souls are.

We are as cosmic as the stars.

By the power of his soul, whose cosmic energy cannot be contained, a blind man can SEE even in the dark. The limp join races and play basketball. Beethoven, partly deaf, visited the woods and watched the trees sway in the wind as he composed his “visual” masterpieces. No one can suppress the energy in us because we are as cosmic as the stars. We have the power to regenerate our spirits in times of pain or crisis.

By saving another, you save yourself. When we get depressed or lonely, we normally focus on our pain. But when you distract yourself away from your pain and focus on others, your pain vanishes away quickly. Open a window and let the sunshine into your dim room.

I gave a 50-peso tip to a Grab motorbike delivering food. I saw his face light up. I was happy that he was happy. See how contagious happiness is? I went to the bank and got 100 50-peso bills. Since we have many deliveries and avoid going out, I gave each delivery boy 50 pesos and watch happiness encompass my day.

One time, I gave 100 pesos to an old man sitting depressed outside the bank. Normally, I give 20 pesos. I saw his tears of joy and I became myself tearful. Another beggar saw the whole thing. He came over, and I gave another 100 pesos. Not that I was rich, but I could afford a bit for these desperate people. They made my day.

Sharing is its own reward. It is therapy for lonely souls, especially in a pandemic. The moment you give, magical things happen. By saving another, you save yourself.

Energy is contagious. Good and bad energy are as contagious as Covid-19. Energy can be transmitted and received — healing energy, forgiveness energy, love energy, happiness energy, pain energy, depression energy.

After a day of healing hundreds of sick people, Sr. Raquel, RVM, went up to her room to rest. As she touched the light switch, it went on, then sparked and there was total darkness. Her excess healing energy dissipated. The next morning, the electrician said there was nothing wrong with the switch.

Feeling chest pains and having shortness of breath for a week, I was afraid I might have a heart problem. I asked Sr. Raquel to pray over me. When she touched my chest, she withdrew her hand quickly in reflex as it produced a spark. She said that was a sign I would be healed. The chest pain vanished and my breathing became normal.
