‘Money Heist’ to bow at its peak

As the hugely popular crime drama series La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) comes to an end, Álvaro Morte, who plays the cunning el Profesor, has nothing but gratitude for the show’s second life.
Spanish TV channel antena 3 premiered La Casa De Papel in 2017 and aired it only as a two-part, 15-episode series.
Initially it drew an astounding 4.3 million views.
However, its viewership dropped and the producers decided to cancel it.
And then netflix acquired the show’s global streaming rights.
La Casa de Papel’s plot revolves around el Profesor who recruits eight professional robbers to carry out a well-planned heist at the Royal Mint of Spain.
The robbers, named after the most popular cities in the world, don a red jumpsuit and a Salvador Dali mask as they conduct the greatest heist in history.
unfortunately, the plan encounters trouble and what was supposed to be just a robbery turns into a full-blown war.
“it was a second chance to be part of this family. i have enjoyed that tremendously,” Morte said in a virtual media conference with the cast and creators.
after five successful seasons, the show is bidding goodbye. Volume 2 of its last season aired globally on netflix on 3 December.

La Casa de Papel also stars itziar ituño (lisbon), Pedro alonso (Berlin), Miguel Herrán (Rio), Jaime lorente (Denver), esther acebo (Stockholm), enrique arce (arturo), Darko Peric (Helsinki), Hovik Keuchkerian (Bogotá), luka Peros (Marseille), Belén cuesta (Manila), Rodrigo de la Serna (Palermo) and najwa nimri (alicia Sierra).
Meanwhile, netflix has announced that the character Berlin will have his own spinoff series which will air in 2023.
