Concert for teachers features Lani Misalucha, Ice Seguerra
Coming soon is a concert that its producers think is unique. The songs to be performed were curated and assigned to a singer or musical group whose character or reputation is most appropriate to the message of the song.
No, the producers are not from any musical organization or a religious group. They are officers and members of A-Teacher Party List, which claims to be the original proponents of the K-12 education curriculum in the country.
The concert, to be held on 11 December at 6 p.m., is dubbed “Handog at Pasasalamat: Benefit E-Concert.” It will be presented online on the organization’s Facebook, YouTube channel, Sessionslive and Kumu. The concert will be streamed for free, even as it is also a benefit event for some public schools in the country in dire need of assistance. Headlining the show are Lani Misalucha and Ice Seguerra. The producers did not reveal their respective repertoire. Joining Misalucha and Seguerra are a cappella group Pinopela, “Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 2” grand finalist Sofronio Vazquez III, alternative band Love Commercial, and Saint Vincent Ferrer Parish Church’s Angelico Voce Chorale.

gratitude, hope, people empowerment and becoming the change people want to see for themselves, said athletic coach Ryan Taclan, the party list’s vice president for Luzon, at the recent Zoom media conference for the event. Aside from inspirational songs, videos showing the activities, accomplishments and beneficiaries of the A Teacher Party-List will also be presented.
“I chose to be part of the E-Concert because I know that its proceeds will be for the benefit of students and teachers in remote areas of the country,” Misalucha said in a video message. “Para sa mga guro na gumagabay sa kabataan, siyempre full support at kasali talaga ako. Ang sarap mag-perform in this concert because I know kung gaano ka-dedicated ang A Teacher Party-List sa kanilang misyon para sa buhay ng mga guro. They do their jobs and they do it well,” said Seguerra. “We’ll gladly jam for A Teacher Party-List because teachers are the coolest,” said Love Commercial. The A-Teacher Party List was founded by Juliet R. Cortuna, the organization’s chair and former Representative.
It represents teachers, students and non-teaching personnel on issues affecting their professional and personal welfare and growth, and likewise underscores the role of transformative education as a vehicle for national development and progress.
Some of its most important legislative accomplishments, to name a few are: RA 10647 Ladderized Education Act of 2014; RA10533 Enhanced Basic Education Act K-12; and RA 10687 Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education Act.
