Sulu bust nets P13.6M shabu
A poseur-buyer bought a kilo of shabu from the suspects, touching off the arrest after money and drugs changed hands
Combined elements of the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized two kilos of suspected shabu worth P13.6 million and arrested three persons in a drug sting. Indanan town police chief Maj. Edwin Catayao Sapa said that the buy-bust operation was conducted at Kilometer 2 in Kajatian, Indanan before sunrise Saturday.
Sapa declined to name the three suspects but said they are all known drug distributors in the town.
A poseur-buyer bought a kilo of shabu from the suspects, touching off the arrest after money and drugs changed hands.
A search on the suspects’ service vehicle resulted in the recovery of another kilo of the narcotics known as poor man’s cocaine.
The marked money, a bundle of fake bills topped by a genuine P1,000 bill, was also recovered and properly inventories along with the drugs.
Sapa said the suspects were even using an analog mobile phone in conducting their business, presumably because law enforcers are no longer equipped to track down analog signals as most, if not all, smartphones in use today are digital.
The three were detained at the Indanan police custodial center while the confiscated shabu was brought to the PDEA office.
