Shimane ends Nagoya’s win streak

The Nagoya Diamond Dolphins’ three-game winning streak was snapped by the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 94-86, in the Japanese B.League at the Dolphin’s Arena in Nagoya Sunday.

The Diamond Dolphins dropped to a 9-7 card while the Susanoo Magic improved to a 11-5 slate.

Ray Parks tried to keep it close for Nagoya in the payoff period after hitting a jumper, 64-69, with 8:35 minutes remaining but Shimane countered with a 9-3 run and never looked back.

Parks had 13 points, two rebounds and three assists.

Over at the Tohoyashi Stadium, the San-En NeoPhoenix absorbed a 98-73 loss to SeaHorses Mikawa.

San-En missed the services of Thirdy Ravena who was serving a two-game suspension and dropped to a 3-13 card.

American import Justin Knox led San-En with 19 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, while Shota Tsuyama added 18 markers and two assists.

Meanwhile, Matthew Aquino and the Shinshu Brave Warriors went down to Utsonomiya Brex, 83-61.

Aquino went scoreless in 2:57 minutes of action as the Warriors fell to a 9-7 card in their campaign.
