The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Monday formally inked a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Vote Pilipinas for the upcoming Pilipinas Debates this month.

The signing ceremony was held at Hotel Sofitel in Pasay City, attended by Comelec acting chairperson Socorro Inting, and Celeste Rondario, founder and CEO of Impact Hub Manila, who is behind the Vote Pilipinas campaign.

Inting said that the Pilipinas Debates is aimed at helping voters make informed decisions on various decisions.

“I am optimistic that the Pilipinas Debates 2022 will achieve its purpose of raising awareness among Filipino voters so they can have the opportunity to make informed choices,” Inting said.

“We invite you to participate and join our organized debate. This debate has no other purpose than to help our voters where you stand on various issues. A public debate is the only avenue where you can witness all candidates side-by-side against each other. Perhaps because they are side by side on a stage, our voters will have a comparison with our candidates,” she added.
