Tzu Chi hosts ‘Auspicious 7th Month Bazaar’
Families are welcome to join the twoday event which advocates many Tzu Chi principles. Filial piety is observed through interactive activities for parents and children, as well as a prayer area for wishing and blessings at BTCC’s Jing Si Hall.
Tzu Chi Foundation will hold an Auspicious 7th Month Bazaar on 30 and 31 July, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., at the Buddhist Tzu Chi Campus (BTCC), 1000 Cordillera corner Lubiran Streets, Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Families are welcome to join the two-day event which advocates many Tzu Chi principles. Filial piety is observed through interactive activities for parents and children, as well as a prayer area for wishing and blessings at BTCC’s Jing Si Hall.
A charity bazaar promoting vegetarianism and love for the environment will be set up at various points around the campus.
At the first floor of BTCC’s Harmony Hall, visitors can have their fill of vegetarian goods in stalls selling meatfree products and food — among them, the best-selling fresh lumpia (spring roll). Veggie meals can be enjoyed in an open-air dining area outside Harmony Hall. Guests are encouraged to bring their own utensils, food containers, and water tumblers.
Quality products from Davao will be sold at the Tzu Chi Café. Frozen durian, pineapple cake, banana, coffee and durian cakes, and others will be flown in by more than 20 Davao volunteers participating in the bazaar.
BTCC’s Lotus Pond is where plant lovers will find an assortment of herbal plants, spice plants, and garden plants for sale. Many of these seedlings from the campus were “adopted” and cared for by Tzu Chi volunteers. Anyone with extra plants from their own garden can donate them to the bazaar for charity. Coupons for the bazaar are available at the Jing Si Hall and Harmony Hall. Those interested in attending the bazaar can pre-purchase coupons, which are good as cash.
All proceeds from the charity bazaar will be donated to Tzu Chi Foundation for its ongoing projects on livelihood, education, medical assistance and disaster relief.
Health and safety protocols against Covid-19 will be implemented in the event. Please wear face masks when in groups and bring proof of vaccination.
