Vulnerable households in Siniloan, Laguna receive assistance

-

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go backs President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s plans to further intensify the government’s pandemic efforts, especially in remote areas as he sent his team to a relief activity in Siniloan, Laguna.

The relief effort was held at the Siniloan Plaza where Go’s outreach team provided meals and masks to 337 struggling residents. They also gave away bicycles, phablets and shoes to select individuals.

Moreover, a team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) extended financial assistance to each affected household to help mitigate the adverse impacts of the ongoing global health crisis.

Go reminded those who are eligible yet unvaccinated to participate in the national inoculation program to boost their defenses against the virus. He also called on everyone to remain vigilant and cooperative of the government’s health preventive measures.

The senator then urged those in need of medical care to visit any of the two Malasakit Centers in the province, including the nearest one at Laguna Medical Center in Santa Cruz or at General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in San Pablo City. Currently, there are 151 Malasakit Centers nationwide that are ready to assist Filipinos with their medical expenses.

Underscoring the importance of improving access to quality healthcare services, Go principally authored and sponsored the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019 to give particularly poor and indigent patients convenient access to medical assistance programs offered by the DSWD, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
