Another milestone for Malayan Insurance

-

Malayan Insurance has won two awards from the 7th Insurance Asia Awards for its exceptional delivery of customer-centric products and services that have helped uplift the lives of Filipinos during the pandemic.

The country’s leading non-life insurance company received the “Domestic General Insurer of the Year” and “New Insurance Product of the Year” for Pet Care.

Malayan’s responsiveness to the market’s current needs and nimbleness in adopting digital transformation for better customer access was instrumental in clinching the “Domestic General Insurer of the Year” award.

Its line-up of responsive products from travel, personal accident, pet, automotive, and property insurance, plus their thoughtful inclusions and benefits such as unlimited Medimate telemedicine services and Covid-19 coverage, has gained the confidence of thousands of Filipinos.

Malayan Insurance continues to dominate the non-life insurance sector affirmed by the Insurance Commission which recorded P14.21 billion gross premiums written in 2020, representing the highest GPW during that period.

The company also remains one of the country’s largest non-life insurers, with P39.24 billion in total assets in the same year.

At the same time, Malayan’s innovative protection plan for pet owners and their canine pets took the “New Insurance Product of the Year” award.

The first product of its kind launched in the Philippines, Pet Care enabled pet owners to fully address the medical needs of their dogs without straining their finances.

This new product reimburses policyholders for any veterinary treatment or vet hospital confinement if the insured dog gets into an accident or suddenly falls ill. It also has a personal accident, owner’s liability, accidental death, disablement, and dismemberment coverage for dog owners.

Pet Care’s affordability and extensive coverage paved the way for responsible pet ownership at a time when pet adoptions and rehoming became a trend because of the pandemic.

Aside from Insurance Asia Awards, Malayan Insurance also recently received a Financial Strength Rating of B++ (Good) and a Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating outlook at “bbb+” (Stable) from insurer rating organization A.M. Best.

The Insurance Asia Awards is a recognition program given by the Insurance Asia publication, focusing on insurance companies, investors, professionals, and policymakers impacting change and innovation to the industry across Asia.

Malayan Insurance offers affordable and reliable insurance products such as Travel Master with Covid-19 Coverage, Vital Cover with Covid-19 Coverage, AutoMaster, Home Protect and Pet Care.
