LGU told: Support National Youth Day celebration

The Department of the Interior and Local Government has urged the local chief executives to actively participate in the celebration of the National Day for Youth Climate Action and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Youth in Climate Action and Disaster Resilience on 25 November.

DILG Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. issued memorandum circular 2022-143 dated 10 November, calling for the LCE’s support in the twin youth celebrations while encouraging them to use the online campaign tool kit and use #YouthClimateAction.

Abalos particularly encouraged local chief executives to initiate measures that will entice the Sangguniang Kabataan members at all levels to commemorate the event and called on the regional directors to disseminate the immediately and at the widest circulation the circular within their respective jurisdictions.

The Interior Secretary also requested the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao-Ministry of the Interior and Local Government to circulate the policy in the region.
