TESDA provides scholarship allowance
The Technical Educations and Skills Development Authority Quezon Provincial Office recently facilitated the distribution of scholarship allowances for its training programs — the Special Training for Employment Program and Training for Work Scholarship Program.
TESDA supervising specialist Katrina Alexandra Avila assisted in distributing training scholarship allowance at Keystone Technical Institute of Lopez Quezon Inc. where 25 scholars under Bread and Pastry Production NC II received their scholarship allowance from TWSP, and another 25 scholars received their scholarship allowances from STEP.
At least 40 scholars under Organic Agriculture Production NC II from NS Villamor Farm Corp. also received their TWSP allowance.
Provincial director Gerardo Marasigan and Scholarship focal person Myla Canzana distributed two batches of beneficiaries in Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and II of from Offshore-Onshore Institute of Technology Inc.
The distribution was followed by a meeting of Marasigan with Mayor Erwin Pastrana, wherein they discussed Executive Order 138 or The Full Devolution of Certain Functions of the Executive Branch to Local Governments, the Creation of a Committee on Devolution, and for other purposes, that will create a strong partnership with the local government units and will strengthen the provisions of communitybased training to provide more training opportunities efficiently.
STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needs of the communities and promote employment, particularly through entrepreneurial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.
