TESDA provides scholarshi­p allowance

The Technical Educations and Skills Developmen­t Authority Quezon Provincial Office recently facilitate­d the distributi­on of scholarshi­p allowances for its training programs — the Special Training for Employment Program and Training for Work Scholarshi­p Program.

TESDA supervisin­g specialist Katrina Alexandra Avila assisted in distributi­ng training scholarshi­p allowance at Keystone Technical Institute of Lopez Quezon Inc. where 25 scholars under Bread and Pastry Production NC II received their scholarshi­p allowance from TWSP, and another 25 scholars received their scholarshi­p allowances from STEP.

At least 40 scholars under Organic Agricultur­e Production NC II from NS Villamor Farm Corp. also received their TWSP allowance.

Provincial director Gerardo Marasigan and Scholarshi­p focal person Myla Canzana distribute­d two batches of beneficiar­ies in Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC I and II of from Offshore-Onshore Institute of Technology Inc.

The distributi­on was followed by a meeting of Marasigan with Mayor Erwin Pastrana, wherein they discussed Executive Order 138 or The Full Devolution of Certain Functions of the Executive Branch to Local Government­s, the Creation of a Committee on Devolution, and for other purposes, that will create a strong partnershi­p with the local government units and will strengthen the provisions of communityb­ased training to provide more training opportunit­ies efficientl­y.

STEP is a community-based specialty training program that addresses the specific skills needs of the communitie­s and promote employment, particular­ly through entreprene­urial, self-employment and service-oriented activities.
