Drug peddlers yield P252-M shabu

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine National Police seized close to P252 million worth of shabu from two drug suspects in sting operations in the province of Cavite on Saturday.

PNP Drug Enforcemen­t Group chief Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo identified the suspects as Datu Ali Dayo Sampulna and Almira Karao Sampulna. They were arrested Saturday evening in a buybust operation in Barangay Buhay na Tubig, Imus City.

Domingo said the suspects yielded around 37 kilos of suspected shabu worth P251.6 million; a styrofoam box color white used drug container; one-piece tickler color yellow-green with label Limelight notebook; assorted cellphones; pouch color pink containing assorted identifica­tion cards and assorted remittance receipts.

The suspects will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022 while the confiscate­d pieces of evidence were brought to PDEG Special Operations Unit-4B for documentat­ion and proper dispositio­n.

Also on Saturday, the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency seized at least 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million from suspect Mansawi Lala during the buy-bust operation in front of a mall at Barangay Bagong PagAsa Quezon City.
