Tabuena, Que join Match Play
Miguel Tabuena and Angelo Que will fly home late Monday from Egypt to join the ICTSI Villamor Match Play Invitational beginning Tuesday at the Villamor Golf Club in Pasay.
The multi-titled Asian Tour veterans took part in the International Series Egypt that ended Sunday. Tabuena won the season opener at Luisita Golf Club in Tarlac before campaigning overseas while Que is still winless this year.
On Monday, 18 pros warm up for the event in a pro-am tournament where they will be paired with 54 amateurs from various sectors.
Meanwhile, Juvic Pagunsan closed with five-over-par 75 to tie for 37th place in the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheyo Masters 2022 in Japan Sunday.
The 44-year-old made only two birdies against three bogeys and two double bogeys to complete 72 holes on 4-over 284. He pocketed 1,020,000 yen (about P420.400).
Japanese Ryo Ishikawa birdied the second extra hole to edge compatriot Rikuya Hoshino in sudden death.
Ishikawa and Hoshino finished tied on 8-under 272.
