‘Super team’ braces for M4

- BY JM SIASAT

ECHO will be parading a powerhouse roster when it competes in the M4 Mobile Legends World Championship from 1 to 15 January in Jakarta.

Touted as a “super team” for the quality of talent in its roster, ECHO will be bannered by Tristan “YAWI” Cabrera as well as Karl ‘KarlTzy” Nepomuceno, Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya, Alston “Sanji” Pabico, Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales, Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira and Jaypee “Jaypee” de la Cruz when it vies in the world’s most prestigious Mobile Legends tourney.

Interestingly, ECHO opted to bench experience laner Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico.

ECHO coach Harold Francis “Tictac” Reyes said aside from Jaypee, they will be fielding the same lineup they used during the recent season of the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines.

We believe this is the strongest lineup we could come up with from our pool of players in terms of skills and chemistry.

“Our M4 lineup mainly comes from our team one of MPL PH Season 10. We included Jaypee and KurtTzy because they are flex roles, they can use any hero,” Tictac told Daily Tribune.

“Jaypee would be a huge help too because he is a veteran in international tournaments including the M series. We have other plans for 3MarTzy.”

ECHO had a lot of hype when it was formed prior the MPL Season 9.

But its “super team” aura quickly went away after it got eliminated by Omega Esports on the opening day of the Season 9 Playoffs.

ECHO eventually dusted themselves, made adjustments to its roster, and then went on to secure a top two finish in the recently-concluded MPL Season 10.

Although they did not win the championship, their efforts were nevertheless enough to secure them a slot in the M4 Mobile Legends World Championship.

Tictac said the coaching team is convinced that they would be pitting the best of ECHO in terms of mechanical skills and overall chemistry.

“We believe this is the strongest lineup we could come up with from our pool of players in terms of skills and chemistry,” Tictac said.

“With veteran KarlTzy and Jaypee in the lineup, I think we would go far in the upcoming M4 world championship.”

Aside from ECHO, the Philippines will also be represented by M3 Mobile Legends world champion Blacklist International.
