Zambo drug peddlers arrested

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two drug peddlers and confiscate­d from their possession about 150 grams of suspected shabu worth over P1 million during a drug buy-bust operation conducted in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

Police Regional Office for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao director P/Brig. Gen. John Gano Guyguyon disclosed that combined operatives of Bongao Municipal Police Station led by Pol. Maj Richard A Ingkoh conducted the sting operation at Barangay Pag-Asa, Bongao, the capital town of Tawi-Tawi.

The suspects were identified as Ridzman Addaki Muzarin and Rohit Addaki Abubakar and confiscate­d from the suspects were three pieces of heat-sealed transparen­t plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 150 grams worth P1.26 million, one piece of P1,000 paper bill as buy-bust money and cash amounting to P240.

Guyguyon said the suspects are now detained at Bongao MPS pending the filing of drug charges against them at the local court in Bongao.

Meanwhile, two persons were arrested by the police for illegal trading of petroleum products at Barangay Tambo, Sultan Mastura, Maguindana­o.

Guyguyon said that the Sultan Mastura Municipal Police Station conducted the operation and arrested the two sellers of petroleum products.

Seized from the sellers were about 1,110 liters of diesel fuel with an estimated market value of P88,000.

The suspects were identified as Fatima Naro Daungan, the owner of the petroleum products and Cesar Konser Kasan.

Authoritie­s also seized a plastic tub containing an estimated 860 liters of diesel fuel, 20 pieces of plastic containers containing 10 liters of diesel fuel and some plastic containers containing different volumes of diesel fuel and the P1,000 used in the operation.

Cases for violation of Batas Pambansa Bilang 33 as amended by PD 1865 will be filed against Daungan and Kasan.
