The Philippine Army’s interoperability and partnership with the United States soldiers have been strengthened following its inaugural participation in the Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center Exercise in Oahu, Hawaii.
Army spokesperson Col. Xerxes Trinidad said the side-by-side training in a spectrum of military operations, which was held from mid-October to mid-November 2022, also boosts the PhilippinesUS bilateral defense relations.
“The91stBrigadeReconnaissance Company of the Philippine Army’s 1st Brigade Combat Team trained with the U.S. Army’s 5th Security Force Assistance Brigade Maneuver Assistance Team as well as cavalry and infantry elements of the 25th Infantry Division at Oahu’s East Range, South Range and Kahuku Training Area,” Trinidad said.
The PA has also sent a team of writers and researchers to document the operational aspects and best practices during the JPMRC Exercise.
Trinidad said the lessons learned and insights gained by the PA in the training exercise will serve as the basis for the crafting of doctrines related to the establishment of the Combat Readiness Training
Center in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.
“The JPMRC Exercise saw the participation of Philippine Army troops in domain training challenges in conditions that accurately mimic operational challenges that they may face in a crisis or conflict,” he added.
Some 103-strong delegation from the PA joined in the JPMRC Exercise.
