Communal living in Makati
What sets The Grid apart from other co-living facilities is its holistic approach to communal living. The space includes ample amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, roof deck, retail shops to serve the needs of residents, and several open spaces.
The city is alive and busy again. That is, after the slowdown suffered during the lockdowns and the migration to the suburbs due to the pandemic, urban dwellers are returning to the metro for faceto-face work engagements and to move around brick-and-mortar commercial and business spaces once more.
For its part, First Georgetown Ventures, Inc. (FGVI) appoints Hospitality Innovators, Inc. (HII) to operate the former’s new communitybased complex, The Grid Co-Living. The Grid is a 10-storey building with its first two floors allocated for commercial establishments and the rest for residential living. It is located in the heart of Makati City and is walking distance to key office areas, several schools, and major transportation hubs.
On their newly minted partnership with HII, FGVI’s president Kristopher Yang shares, “We chose to partner with HII given their well-established reputation and experience in operations and property management of hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments. We want to be able to serve our clients well and, at the same time, we want our building to be properly maintained. We believe that HII is the perfect partner for these objective.”
FGVI, led by George Yang, was founded in 1994 and has since become a notable player in the hospitality sector, with hotels located in Laguna and El Nido, Palawan. The group is a developer of primary and secondary homes catering to the middle-income segment.
The Grid is FGVI’s affordable and viable solution to the traffic congestion and public transport crisis in the country, for office workers, medical front liners, and students alike.
“The influx of working professionals in Makati and the horrible traffic going to and from workplaces prompted us to venture into a co-living project. We envision The Grid to be the young urban workers’ home near their offices. We hope that cutting their travel time to and from work would improve their overall wellbeing,” Yang continues.
Practially a home away from home, accommodations are suitable for most anyone’s specific needs, with Single (13.67-13.91 sqm.), Triple (14.18-17.52 sqm.), Quadruple (15.98-20.71 sqm), 4-in-1 (36.1-39.99 sqm.) and 8-in-1 (36.1 sqm.) unit types available. The Single, Triple, and Quadruple units include bunk beds for residents, while the 4-in-1 and 8-in-1 units are comprised of multiple rooms with single beds, alongside a shared kitchen and living/dining space for each apartment.
What sets The Grid apart from other co-living facilities is its holistic approach to communal living. The vibrant space includes ample amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, roof deck, retail shops to serve the needs of residents, and several open
spaces. Each facility not only contributes to the health of mind and body for a worry-free work-life balance, but also encourages positive interaction amongst residents and allows them to build a sense of kinship and community.
