Zambales woman slay suspects convicted

IBA, Zambales — The Regional Trial Court Branch 71 has convicted two individual­s who were found guilty on the charges of killing a 23-year-old store supervisor in San Felipe, Zambales.

The convicted suspects — identified as Fil-Am Jonathan Dewayne Viane and Niño de la Cruz — were sentenced with reclusion perpetua for the slay of victim Karie Ces “Aika” Mojica, who was found dead at a dike beside the Sto. Tomas River.

RTC Branch 71 presiding Judge Consuelo Amog-Bocar also ordered the convicted individual­s to pay the victim’s families each with P100,000 as civil indemnity, P100,000 as moral damages, P100,000 as exemplary damages and P50,000 as temperate damages.

Under the charge, both Viane and de la Cruz will serve 20 to 40 years imprisonme­nt without eligibilit­y for parole.

To recall, Mojica was reported missing on 24 July 2015 and was found the next day at the crime scene with her burned body and three empty shells from a caliber 9mm handgun.
