UK envoy inspects MechPS

The Department of Welfare and Social Development welcomed the United Kingdom Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils during her visit to the National Resource Operations Center in Pasay City.

The UK envoy conducted an inspection of the Mechanized Production System to learn about its continuing importance and relevance to NROC operations.

The UK government is one of the donors of the MechPS that was built at NROC in September 2015 with the help of the United Nations World Food Program Philippines.

The MechPS is instrumental in the rapid production of family food packs, for stockpiling and augmentation in DSWD field offices, and even distribution to families and individuals affected by the calamity.

Among those who welcomed Beaufils Undersecretary for Disaster Management Marco Bautista, Undersecretary for Social Welfare and Development Sally Navarro, Assistant Secretary for Mindanao Affairs Arnel Garcia, Assistant Secretary for Office of the Secretary Concerns Irene Dumlao, Social Marketing Service Director Louie Sulima, and National Resource and Logistics Management Bureau officer-in-charge Corazon Macaraeg.
