Petro Gazz reaches semis

Petro Gazz downed also-ran Army, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19, yesterday to snatch the third semifinal seat in the 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Import Lindsey Weide led the parade of scorers with 20 points, four blocks and a couple of aces while Aiza Maizo-Pontillas chipped in 12 for the Angels, who boosted their record to 5-2.

The loss sent Army skidding further with a 0-8 slate.

A down-the-line kill by Myla Pablo settled the issue once and for all in the game that saw Vander Weide make a lot of heads turn.

Laura Condotta led the way for Army with 12 attacks but her efforts were not enough due to the lack of support from teammates.

Jovelyn Gonzaga was held to just five points.

Petro Gazz will next face the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers.
