Pagunsan earns P730,000
Juvic Pagunsan closed with second-straight two-under-par 69 to finish in a tie for 22nd place in the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament 2022 at the Phoenix Country Club in Miyazaki, Japan Sunday.
The 44-year-old Filipino had a strong start of three birdies in the front nine before cooling off with three bogeys against a bogey coming home to bring his total to 7-under 277 in a tie with seven players.
He pocketed 1,790,000 yen (roughly P730,000).
Japanese Kazuki Higa shot a blistering 64 to win on 21-under 263, three strokes ahead of Mito Pereira. Tomoharu Ostuki was third on 267 after a 66.
Korean Tom Kim shared fourth on 268 following a 64.
Japanese Yuto Katsuragawa, who, like Kim, honed his skills in the Philippines, was in joint 11th on 272 after a 68.
Meanwhile, Amateur Samantha Bruce blew away her chances to advance in the final stage of the LPGA Tour and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament after a nine-over-par 81 at the Panther course of the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida Saturday.
