QC cops round up 10,174

Quezon City police officers rounded up 10,174 in a week-long anti-criminalit­y drive in the city, district director P/Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre told reporters Monday.

A total of 81 people were nabbed on drug-related charges, 63 were served arrest warrants, 61 were collared for illegal gambling and 9,969 violators of ordinances were either warned or ticketed.

Of the 81 arrested on drug charges, 44 were for pushing and 37 were for possession of narcotics.

Among the ordinances violated were jaywalking, littering, urinating, drinking, and smoking in public places. Minors were also accosted for violating curfew hours.

A total of 103.57 grams of shabu worth P704,276 and 13 grams of marijuana leaves and fruits with a street value of P4,120 were seized.

Of the 81 arrested on drug charges, 44 were for pushing and 37 were for possession of narcotics.

Police also seized cash as evidence from those arrested for illegal gambling.
