Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go reaffirmed his commitment to help the marginalized sector and to continue former president Rodrigo Duterte’s vision to provide a more comfortable life for all as he, together with Senator Robinhood Padilla, personally visited Josefina, Zamboanga del Sur to assist thousands of struggling residents.

Held at the municipal gymnasium, the senator and his team handed out grocery packs, vitamins, masks, meals, umbrellas, caps and shirts to 1,697 residents. They also provided cellular phones, shoes, watches, bicycles, and balls for basketball and volleyball to select beneficiaries.

In line with the government’s efforts to help the most needy sector, personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development likewise provided financial assistance to the residents.

The lawmaker also underscored the importance of remaining disciplined and vigilant, citing that the fight against Covid-19 continues. As Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go highlighted how being vaccinated can significantly help in the country’s return to normalcy.

The senator also offered assistance to those in need of medical care and encouraged them to visit Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center in Pagadian City or Margosatubig Regional Hospital where there are Malasakit Centers ready to assist with their medical-related expenses.
