The Philippine National Police has announced the arrest of 13,391 drug personalities, including 1,531 high-value targets in the first 100 days of its aggressive campaign against illegal drugs.

In close coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, drug enforcement units have conducted 12,321 operations nationwide.

All those arrested were individually charged with violation of Republic Act 9165.

Police Regional Office 7 has the biggest number of arrested high-value personalities with 250 drug personalities followed by PRO 3 with 203, PRO 4A with 156, PRO 11 with 132, and NCRPO with 123.

Let’s all work together to fight illegal drugs through a more intensified program so that we can finally catch the big syndicates that distribute illegal drugs in the bans.

These significant accomplishments describe the aggressiveness of the intelligence-driven supply reduction strategy with a strong emphasis on non-violent methods of effecting arrest while ensuring the protection of operating teams engaged in a violent confrontation with armed suspects, according to PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin.

Through a holistic approach, Azurin assured the PNP will remain at the forefront of the national strategy against the country’s drug problem.

“Consistent with our mandate — to serve and protect the citizenry, the PNP will continue to intensify its efforts in pursuit of our mission towards a safer, more progressive, and drug-free community,” Azurin added.

“Let’s all work together to fight illegal drugs through a more intensified program so that we can finally catch the big syndicates that distribute illegal drugs in the bans.”
