Without partner, ‘Birthday Boy’ hangs self

-

A 23-year-old man was found lifeless after hanging himself when his supposed live-in partner did not show up during his birthday early dawn of Tuesday in Sta. Ana, Manila.

Pat. Errol Aguila, investigator of Manila Police District-Homicide Section, identified the victim as Mark Anthony Estefanie, a resident of 3164-B New Panaderos, Sta. Ana, Maynila.

His body was found hanging underneath a red colored nylon chord at the ceiling of the kitchen of their house at 1:20 a.m.

He was last seen alive by his step mother Maricen Santos at 11:30 midnight.

Santos awoke at 1 a.m. to pee when she saw a suicide note addressed to his sibling and father asking for forgiveness for his action.

She called up the father of the victim to help in bringing him down and tried to revive Estefanie to no avail.

According to the family, the victim was expecting his live-in partner to come on his birthday despite having a lovers’ quarrel. Her absence caused deep resentment on the victim which could be the reason for committing suicide.

However the father of the victim who was identified as Mer-Allan have rejected the investigation surrounding the death as he said no foul play happened on the death of his son.
