Zamboanga stays alive

Zamboanga keeps its title chances alive following a 63-53 win over a cold Batangas City in Game 2 of their OKBet-Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League 4th Season Tuesday night at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Both teams struggled on offense in the fourth quarter, but Zamboanga fared better as Adrian Santos fired nine of his team’s 15 points in a telling rally that prompted it to forge a deciding Game 3.

A former Batangas player, Santos wound up with 13 points and eight rebounds to emerge as Best Player of the Game.

Jhaps Bautista led Zamboanga with 17 points despite being held to only three in the second half while Jaycee Marcelino emerged with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals.
