NLRC eyes new infrastructure

Officials and members of the National Labor Relations Commission will soon have its own building with the ongoing construction of a 15-story building in Agham Road, Quezon City.

According to the Department of Public Works and Highways, the proposed building will serve as NLRC’s new main office, transferring from their old headquarters at the PPSTA Building in Banawe Street, Quezon City. It will also serve as NLRC’s permanent home, as the Commission has been renting offices since the 1990s.

“Years of planning and collaboration between the NLRC, DPWH and the Department of Labor and Employment brought a permanent home for the officials and employees of the agency,” said the DPWH.

Relaying a report from DPWH National Capital Region director Loreta Malaluan, DPWH Secretary Manuel Bonoan said that the building will have office spaces, conference halls, public areas, multi-purpose rooms and parking lots for workers, aiming for convenience for workers, clients and transactors.

Construction of the proposed building has been formally started with a groundbreaking ceremony for the new building on 4 November.
