A brighter Christmas for Nagkaisang Nayon
The Manila Electric Company and One Meralco Foundation, in partnership with the Quezon City local government last 17 November, celebrated the electrification of 391 households in Dormitory Phases 1, 2, and 3, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City. Joining the various homeowner’s associations in the barangay during the community launch were (from L-R) Hon. Fernando Miguel ‘Mikey’ Belmonte, Quezon City 2nd district Councilor and the City Council Committee Head for Urban Poor and Human Settlement; Hon. Gian Sotto, Quezon City Vice Mayor; Hon. Patrick Michael ‘PM’ Vargas, Quezon City Fifth District Representative; Ferdinand O. Geluz, Meralco chief commercial Officer and Head of Customer Retail Services; Jeffrey O. Tarayao, OMF president; Maita B. David, Meralco Head for Home and Micro Biz – North Business Area; and Ma. Corazon Pilapil, Meralco Head of Novaliches-Camarin Business Center. Through its Household Electrification Program, OMF assists low-income families in the Meralco franchise area to gain access to safe and reliable electricity service and help them maximize their resource to increase their productivity. It also discourages households from resorting to flying connections, illegal service connections, and using sub-meters in the community. OMF has energized more than 60,000 households under the HEP since it started in 2011.
