Scholarshi­p aid pivotal to insurgent-free status

NABUNTURAN, Davao de Oro — The provincial government here stressed the need need for educationa­l scholarshi­ps in its geographic­ally isolated and disadvanta­ged areas to sustain the peace efforts.

Governor Dorothy Montejo-Gonzaga said that they have revised the scholarshi­p program of the province making sure that slots will be given to students in GIDAs and former rebels or their family members.

“For the FRs or we call them ‘friends rescued’, they can avail of the scholarshi­p. It is also made available for their families or relatives,” Gonzaga.
