CUSTOMS CHIEF WRITES FOR TRIBUNE
Bureau of Customs Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz joins the Daily Tribune family as columnist starting Monday, touching on his advocacies in the agency.
In his weekly column titled “Out-of-the-Box, Ruiz will underscore seven pillars that will guide his administration, in accordance with the President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ order, which are zero tolerance for drug smugglers; curbing illicit guns trade; elimination of agricultural smuggling; higher revenue generation; full digitalization of Customs processes; increase in employee morale; and eradicating corruption.
Ruiz was former Director of the Enforcement and Security Service of the BoC and Regional Director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Offices 4A, 6, 7, 12, and ARMM.
President Marcos appointed him to the top BoC post in July 2022.
