Abalos, Tulfo, Frasco get high approval rating
Three cabinet members score more than 70 percent approval rating in the survey.
Three Cabinet secretaries of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. have garnered more than 70 percent approval rating, based on a survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc.
Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. scored the highest approval rating of 75 percent in the survey conducted from 3 to 10 November using face-to-face interviews with 5,000 respondents Social Welfare Secretary Erwin Tulfo followed with 73 percent and Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco with 71 percent.
Frasco, the youngest in the Marcos cabinet, attributed her high approval rating to the efficiency of her agency’s employees and the tourism sector.
“The result of the RPMD survey is an affirmation of the hard work of the men and women of the Department of Tourism and the entire industry and the sectors that it encompasses,” Frasco said. “This will be an inspiration as we carry on with zeal and optimism the tasks that will lead us to the resurgence of tourism as envisioned by President Marcos Jr.”
A lawyer by profession, Frasco is a three-term mayor of Liloan, a municipality in the province of Cebu, before she was named tourism chief.
Inspired by the President’s optimism, Frasco said she took the challenge as an opportunity to turn things towards the resurgence of tourism across the country.
“The role is challenging given the setbacks the industry has faced in the past two years. In our effort to listen to stakeholders, we were able to gain valuable insight into the industry’s needs and we continue to form collaborative relationships that ensure a recovery that is inclusive and responsive,” she said.
“Led by our President, the tourism industry will recover and rise stronger than ever,” Frasco added.
