Informal settlers’ inclusion in housing projects sought
Teodoro said he will talk again with the national government to discuss and incorporate such proposal.
Marikina City Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro is urging the national government to include informal settler families as beneficiaries of the high-rise socialized housing project in the city.
The local chief executive said that the housing projects will benefit middle income residents such as teachers and policemen, among others.
“That’s what I asked them how we can include the informal settler families. Some of them have jobs but not formal such as market vendors and tricycle drivers,” Teodoro said. “So, I said there should be a category for informal settler families, then the subsidy from the government should be focused for them.”
Teodoro said he will talk again with the national government to discuss and incorporate such proposal.
The high-rise condominiums will be constructed at the seven-hectare lot in Barangay Nangka just beside Twinville Subdivision and Fairlane Subdivision.
The construction of the high-rise condominiums will commence by January next year, Teodoro said.
