147 Mimaropa insurgents surrender
Police Regional Office-4B MIMAROPA chief Brig. Gen. Sidney Hernia has commended the voluntary surrender of 147 members and supporters of the Communist Party of Philippines-New People’s Army to different police units in the region from January to 24 November this year.
Hernia disclosed that the latest rebel who yielded to Mimaropa police were four former members of the NPA in Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday.
Reports revealed that “Ka Daniel”, “Ka Jason,” “Ka David,” and “Ka Robin” — all former members of Platoon Dos of Kilusang Larangang Gerilya-Mark Anthony Velasco under the Lucio de Guzman Command of the Sub-Regional Military Area, Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee — voluntarily surrendered to the elements of PNP SAF’s 10th Special Action Battalion led by Police Major Jinkie B Tuguic, Acting Battalion Commander, in Barangay Waygan, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.
The surrender of the four NPA rebels was made possible through the support of the 403rd B Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4B; 23MICO, 76IB, and 4IB under 203rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army; Mansalay Municipal Police Station, Provincial Intelligence Unit and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company; Regional Intelligence Unit 4B; Criminal Investigation and Detection Group — Regional Field Unit 4B; and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency 4B.
