LRT-1 testing Roosevelt Station integration
Once the results of functional exercises are confirmed to be acceptable, the target commencement of commercial operations from LRT1 Baclaran Station until LRT1 Roosevelt Station would be on Monday, 5 December.
Light Rail Transit Line 1 will be closed on 3 and 4 December to make room for the reintegration of LRT-1 Roosevelt Station.
In an advisory on Saturday, LRT-1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corporation said it would conduct several tests to check the integration of the Roosevelt area under LRT-1’s brand-new Alstom signaling system.
LRT-1 revealed that it would conduct readiness tests, trial runs, and other exercises for the reintegration of its final terminal, which LRMC temporarily closed to give way for the construction of the government’s Common Station building.
“We advise our passengers to plan their trips ahead. We assure the public that the upcoming weekend closure with temporary inconvenience will result in long-term benefits for our commuters,” LRMC chief operating officer Rolando Paulino III said.
“In coordination with our private and government partners, it will be all hands on deck to ensure a safe and successful resumption of commercial operations for the full line,” Paulino III added.
Once the results of functional exercises are confirmed to be acceptable, the target commencement of commercial operations from LRT1 Baclaran Station until LRT1 Roosevelt Station would be on Monday, 5 December.
Paulino reassured the commuting public that LRMC is prepared to serve their LRT-1 passengers by adding Roosevelt Station to the existing operational stations.
