Manila council approves P22.2-B budget
Social services and health will get the lion’s share or nearly half of the P22.2 billion budget of the City of Manila for 2023, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna said yesterday.
Lacuna revealed that the city council headed by Vice Mayor Yul Servo thoroughly reviewed and studied the proposed budget before approving the same.
Among those to be funded are the city’s social amelioration program providing allowances for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, solo parents and those studying at city colleges and public schools.
Environmental protection, city peace and order, improvement of health centers and additional facilities at Manila Boystown were also funded.
