Former ASG members boosted

ZAMBOANGA CITY — At least 59 former Abu Sayyaf Group members in Sulu received the 2nd tranche assistance from Project Tulong ng Gobyernong Nagmamalas­akit or TUGON from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Regional Task Force on Ending Local Armed Conflict in collaborat­ion with the Joint Task Force Sulu.

Sulu Ministry of Interior and Local Government assistant provincial director Nermida M. Muksan disclosed that the distributi­on of the assistance to the former ASG members was held at its headquarte­rs in Camp Bautista, Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu on Thursday.

She said each former ASG received P5,000 cash assistance, grocery items and two sacks of rice as part of the government’s continuing commitment to help former insurgents to alleviate their lives.
