Kuya Bong: Infra development a must

-

Eyed to promote economic growth not just in the town of Malalag but in the Davao region and nearby areas, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go inspected the newly constructed and upgraded Malalag Port in Davao del Sur.

A new wharf, access trestle, improvements to the existing backup area and the installation of a lighting system are among the upgrades made on the port.

Go expressed hope that the upgraded facility will contribute to the growth and development not only of the Davao Region but of neighboring provinces.

Malalag Port, known as one of the country’s most important international maritime gateways, is located in the southwest of Malalag Bay, roughly 88 kilometers south of Davao City and 25 kilometers from Digos City.

The Philippine Ports Authority said in a statement that “molasses, sugar, steel products, vehicles, and heavy equipment” are some of the commodities that are likely to pass through the port.

Go expressed hope that the upgraded facility will contribute to the growth and development not only of the Davao Region but of neighboring provinces.
