JTF Central condemns CAA killings
The report said that gunmen arrived onboard motorcycles and immediately opened fire on the CAA members at their detachment
JOLO, Sulu — The Joint Task Force Central and the local government of Buldon in Maguindanao del Norte strongly condemned the attack and the killing of three active members of the civilian active auxiliary who were guarding a bridge undergoing repair.
JTF Central commander Maj. Gen. Roy Galido said that “this inhumane act of the killing and wounding of our personnel must be condemned to the full extent.”
He also called on the public to remain vigilant of the atrocities of these culprits behind the attack.
“This shooting incident deliberately violates the right to life and cannot be justified under any ideology or circumstance,” Galido said.
To recall, the attack was perpetrated by a still unidentified armed group occurred around 1 a.m. Monday and reports said that the gunmen arrived onboard motorcycles and immediately opened fire on the CAA members at their detachment and seized their firearms in Sitio Simway, Edcor in Buldon.
Three CAA members died on the spot while the fourth expired while undergoing medication in a hospital. They were identified as Christian Silvestre, Ignacio Lozad, Dondon Ahito and Arnel Cayanan.
The suspects also took four M14 rifles from the victims.
Police and military authorities believed the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters were behind the attack.
Buldon Mayor Pahmia Manalao-Masurong also condemned the attack, even as she assured that financial aid has been provided to the families of slain militiamen.
