Belle Cup: De Leon, Joaquin on the prowl
Romeo de Leon and Michael Joaquin moved in strong contention in the overall team race in the Belle Cup 2023 after firing a 12-under-par 58 at the Tagaytay Highlands Wednesday.
De Leon and Joaquin, who were four shots clear of four teams that played at the Highlands, try to do better at the Midlands on Friday.
The top three scores have been recorded at Midlands so far, led by the 14-under of Darren Flores and Ronin Leviste.
After the completion of the first round, Gab Macalaguim and Neil Arce stayed on top of the best gross division with their combined six-under-par 66 at the Midlands Thursday.
On the other hand, the best gross score at the Highlands — a five-under 65 — was posted by Pierre Paulo Carpio and Roy Nudalo also on Thursday.
