Sultan Kudarat receives huge boost
The ARBOs are from the municipalities of Palimbang, Columbio, President Quirino, Lambayong, Lutayan, Kalamansig, Lebak, Senator Ninoy Aquino and Tacurong City.
The Department of Agrarian Reform disclosed on Friday that it has distributed P2.9-million worth of farm machinery to 11 agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations in Sultan Kudarat to boost their livelihood activities.
The farm machinery was provided under the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities Project, which aims to balance economic growth, social well-being and environmental care.
DAR assistant regional director Roldan Ali said the initiative is part of the agency’s effort to assist the ARBOs in boosting their agricultural productivity and improving the farmers’ economic lives.
“I hope that this turned over farm machinery will serve its purpose and that it will be maintained and sustained because it will help you achieve higher farm productivity and profitability,” said Ali.
The ARBOs are from the municipalities of Palimbang,
Columbio, President Quirino, Lambayong, Lutayan, Kalamansig, Lebak, Senator Ninoy Aquino and Tacurong City.
The recipients include the Libertad Peace and Development Farmers Association, Batang Bagras, Libertad Peace and Development Farmers Association, Maligaya Peace and Development, Telafas Peace and Development, Kalanawe II Farmers Association, Tambak Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, Palavilla Barangay Irrigation, Barurao II Women’s Association, Cadiz Rice Farmers Association, Nati Communal Irrigators Association and the P4MP Baras.
They were provided with 13 units of hand tractor with trailer worth P130,000 each, eight units of floating tiller worth P75,250 each and eight units of power tiller worth P76,000 each.
Ali said that the activity is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella to pour out support services to ARBOs nationwide.
