All set for Southwoods Invitational
Junjun Plana and Gab Macalaguim captured the overall gross crown while Richard Santos and Michael Miguel won the overall net honors last year.
The Southwoods Invitational has drawn a record field of 325 two-man teams at the Masters and Legends courses of the Manila Southwoods in Carmona, Cavite slated 29 March to 1 April.
Junjun Plana and Gab Macalaguim captured the overall gross crown while Richard Santos and Michael Miguel won the overall net honors last year.
Organizers are looking to lure in 100 more squads for the 36-hole event spread over four days with Batch 1 to see action on 29 and 31 March and the next on 30 March and 1 April.

Due to the increased number of participants and to balance the number of players playing on tournament days, play will be sequential tee times on both courses on Wednesday (29 March) and Friday (31 March) at 6:20 a.m. and a shotgun start on Thursday (30 March) and Saturday (1 April) at 7:30 a.m. at the Legends, and 8 a.m. at the Masters.
Participants will play aggregate format at the Legends and best ball format at the Masters under the Stableford points scoring system with applied course handicaps.
The club closed the registration as early as 15 March as entries kept on coming despite reaching the teams’ quota. Players will get two practice rounds on weekdays, a golf bag and a tour cap.
