Honduras cites ICTSI unit as GPW company

The Honduras government has issued a Great Place to Work certificat­ion to the subsidiary of Internatio­nal Container Terminal Services, Inc., Operadora Portuaria Centroamer­icana, in recognitio­n of the benefits it provides to local employees.

In a statement on Wednesday, ICTSI said OPC earned the commendati­on for always being aware of the needs of its employees since it started operations in Puerto Cortes 10 years ago.

“One of the fundamenta­l pillars on which OPC bases its philosophy of shared value is the well-being and growth of its staff a scenario in which both the company, its employees and surroundin­g communitie­s win,” OPC general director Juan Corujo said.

“It views the commitment and trust of its staff with utmost importance, which is why the company constantly works for and invests in both the shortand long-term benefits of every employee,” he added.

OPC also promotes an adequate work environmen­t by integratin­g health and wellbeing programs that attract and retain human talent, and developing them with training that enhances their skills.

In its 10 years of existence, the company has invested nearly $1.5 million in more than 233,000 hours of training for more than 3,000 employees, showing OPC’s commitment to Honduras and its people.

Results of a GPW survey show that 8 out of 10 employees of OPC see the company as a great place to work.
