La Salle Zobel on top as Interschool resumes Sunday
With more than 400 golfers taking part the school-based, weekend-only tourney, the JGFP Interschool resumes on Sunday with action in the Middle School and Lower school slated at Royale Tagaytay and Senior High School at Summit Point.
De La Salle Santiago Zobel took the chokehold of the Senior High School Championship and Developmental divisions of the ongoing Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines Interschool over six golf courses in and around Metro Manila.
Following action in the past several weeks, Zobel lords it over in the top-tier Championship division with 569 points, leading Beacon Academy with 545, International School Manila with 482, Ateneo de Manila University Team 1 with 462 and De La Salle Greenhills Team 1 with 407, in the top five of the standings.
Zobel’s Team 2 is top-ranked in Developmental division as well, amassing 424 points to pace Zobel Team 3 (265), British School Manila (255), Xavier Team (191) and Immaculate Conception (169) atop the ladder.
Erika Tan of ICA is leader in the SHS girls’ individual with 130 points, followed by teammate Martina Oben (128), Alexa Ray Chuan Tan of BSM (108) and Sam Torres of Everest Team and Stacey Chan of ICA tied for fourth with 64 points each.
Zach Castro of Zobel is at the forefront with 206 points, while Santino Pineda of Beacon (195), Chase Pascual of ISM (189), John Canlas of Zobel (188) and Jaime Lorenzo Alabastro of Beacon (185) round up the top five in SHS boys’ individual.

In the Junior High School Championship division, Ateneo Team holds sway with 566 points, chased by Homeschool Global with 456, Zobel with 447, ISM and ICA at joint fourth with 337 apiece.
Ateneo Team 1 leads the Developmental division with 210 points while Zobel Team 2 (207), ICA Team 2 (180), Xavier Team (160) and Zobel Team 1 (149) in the top five.
Leading individual players in girls are Alessandra Luciano of Homeschool (156), Precious Zaragosa of Learning Links Academy (141), Levonne Talion of Letran Calamba (136), Kendra Garingalao of Homeschool (122) and Tiffany Bernardino of Saint Pedro Poveda College (116).
Ateneo boys occupy the top three in individual with Rajah Crisostomo with 200 points, Felix Saludar (189) and Aaenzo Andrei Sulaik (177), while Zobel’s Tristan Padilla and Rafael Leonio are ranked fourth and fifth with 158 and 156 points, respectively.
Ateneo Team 2 also takes the driver’s seat in Middle School Championship (374), holding at bay Ateneo Team 1 (343), Zobel (341), Xavier Team 2 (277) and Xavier Team 1 (276) in the upper rungs of the standings.
ISM (242) BSM (228), Woodrose Paref (204), Zobel (193) and Ateneo Team 1 are in the top five of the MS Developmental standings.
Assumption golfers are in the top three of the girls’ individual with Quincy Pilac (170), Alexandra Kay Mauricio (138) and Margaux Namoco (107), followed by Georgina Handog of Zobel with 106 and Makayla Adriana Verano of Woodrose with 98.
Boys’ side is led by Race Phoenix Manhit of Ateneo (141), John Majgen Luis Gomez also of Ateneo (132), joint third-runners Jacob Gomez of Zobel and Jose Luis Espinosa of Ateneo (131) and Essa Michael Janecek of ISM (119).
At the Lower School division, Homeschool is ahead with 210 points, followed by Xavier Team 1 (168), ICA (160), Zobel Team 1 (142) and Ateneo (128).
Leading players are Kamila Del Mundo of Homeschool (115), Venus delos Santos of Coral na Bato Elementary School (99), Maria Brianna Macasaet of Assumption (94), Kenzo Tan of Xavier Team (89) and
